In this case, I came up with a cool lick that I'm going to analyze with you so we can apply it. The first thing is discovering what key the lick is in, for that, I use interval analysis. I found that this particular lick can work over G Dorian or D Aeolian. The next step is to improvise a little bit and introduce our lick in a way that the phrasing feels comfortable. The more you play, the more you connect with the lick!
