Description
TuneTrain is a music creation app, where kids can quickly create and edit melodies through a fun line-drawing mechanic.
In the world of TuneTrain, people live at various heights in colorful vertical buildings. To help these people get around, the user can draw a train line to connect them to each other. The magic is that the people represent musical notes and the train line represents a musical melody that kids can create and hear.
The universe of TuneTrain is completely governed by musical rules. The various heights that people live at represent different pitches; the distance between people represent note lengths; and even the buildings show the underlying chord structure that best accompanies a melody. By learning to play in a world governed by musical rules, kids will also learn about the fundamental structure of music.
Our goal is not only to make people feel confident in their ability to make music, but also to plant seeds of interest for a lifelong musical journey.

Love this app, from a elementary music teacher
This is a wonderful way to allow younger music students to compose. I love that it is harmonically based. I would love to use this with my whole school. Please add a way to save and send/share compositions! That would make this app perfect.
Excellent app for teaching small children music composition
This app teaches children music theory through a fun game. The child draws a path for a train to travel on a track that goes up and down (it's a music staff, and you can either show the staff above the train track or just the track). After choosing the path the train takes, the tune is played. In this way, the child intuitively can easily understand music composition. It's an excellent way for teaching the beauty of music and music theory, while letting the child compose. When my granddaughter was 4 she enjoyed the game for short over idols, but now at age 5 she really enjoys it.
Please update!
My students and I love this game! I use it for teaching the direction of music and how it can be shaped in phrases. I also use it as a composing tool. The students like it because they can make their own music and hear it live immediately and they like choosing the accompaniment. Please update to the most current operating system because it will not work on my iPad until you do. Please! Please! Please! I would be willing to pay for this app!! Please help. Thanks.
