Derek Carr, Megatron, Del Rio, Downing hit the links after Raiders OTAs

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr found some time after offseason training activities (OTAs) to hit the links with Raiders coach Jack Del Rio, offensive coordinator Todd Downing and retired NFL receiver Calvin Johnson Wednesday.

Carr and Downing both documented their outings with a picture of themselves alongside Megatron on Twitter Wednesday. Johnson is in town as a guest of Downing for the week, and has been seen at Oakland’s OTAs throughout raising some excitement amongst a sect of Raider Nation.

While there are no signs that Johnson is in town entertaining the Raiders as a possible destination should he choose to un-retire, a golf course has long since been a place for professionals to unwind and talk business.

The 6-foot-5, 239-pound Johnson retired in March of 2016 after tallying 731 receptions for 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns in his career. While still just 31-years old, the former Detroit Lions wide receiver suffered numerous lower extremity injuries which led to his retirement.

Many retired NFL players get the itch to return once their body fully recovers, and should Johnson be in town for more than just fun, Oakland could be toying with the idea of boasting the most dynamic receiving corps in all of football.
