Five observations from Seahawks practice: 1. Jeremy Lane lined up with the first team at RCB and moved inside in nickel, with Neiko Thorpe replacing him on the outside. 2. There were a lot of different O-Line combinations, but the coaches remain bullish on George Fant at LT. Asked who impressed physically after the six-week break, Fant was the first name Carroll mentioned. 3. Newly acquired Marcus Smith will get a chance to compete at the SAM LB position and rush from DE in nickel. 4. Tyler Lockett (leg) and DeShawn Shead (knee) began camp on PUP. Carroll said Lockett won't be there long and indicated that Shead had a minor procedure that should accelerate his return. 5. No one enjoyed Kris Kross' "Jump" being played during practice more than nose tackle Jarran Reed, who bounced around to the ‘90s classic. Reed was born the same year (1992) that song was released.
