**This video is a small part of Classroom Kickstart, a detailed online course that will help you use Google Classroom this school year. Learn more and sign up here: http://chrmbook.com/kickstart** Announcements are the most basic post for Classroom, but don’t let that fool you! There are some really fun and creative ways to use the announcement feature! TIP: Now that the stream and classwork pages have been separated, you can use announcements in some interesting ways. This year I will be experimenting with allowing my students to post to the stream page (might be one of my worst ideas ever...we’ll see!) Ideas for your classroom:
  • Schedule some reminder announcements for the first few weeks of the school year (tip, you can copy your announcement to multiple classes!)
  • Got a big project coming up? Schedule reminders every few days to help students keep on track.
  • Share your life! Share photos from your life to help your students get to know you.
  • Students love animated gifs. Giphy.com is my favorite GIF resource. Download an image and add it as an attachment to your announcements.
